Our Mission

Honeysuckle Moon aims to strengthen the worldwide wellness narrative surrounding People of African descent and our expansive culture of spa + herbalism + eco therapy + holistic wellbeing. The vast knowledge, wisdom and wellness support of an Indigenous African Rastafarian medicine woman + licensed skin therapist is offered to communities to honor our rites of self care, stress reduction and peace of mind through nature and the unyielding love of JAH (the Most High). That is our daily mission.

Everyone who purchases Honeysuckle Moon skin care + wellness products is supporting our multigenerational livity as a creative house, as well as, our local + global wellness activations and social impact initiatives. These include our Eco Therapy Jamaica wellness retreats and Vibrant Moons Natural Wellness Festival for the Indigenous Woman, our annual independent women’s wellness festival and empowerment platform.

This Life Chose Me: The Honeysuckle Moon wellness practice began in my Mother’s kitchen in our Louisiana hometown, while on a sabbatical away from the corporate demands and stressors of life as a single mother.

Furthermore, I was one of the first women to wear natural hair in corporate America between the mid-90’s and early 2000’s. Simply stated, my employers during this time did not appreciate the fact that I identified with and expressed my Pan African culture. They hated that I chose to loc my hair rather than assimilate to their corporatized standards of beauty.

With this said, they opted to make me suffer for my decision to show up as a liberated woman.

Unfortunately, my compromised health was the price, demanding a definitive lifestyle shift. Following 3 major surgeries, I was forced to change what I put into my body, how I manage stress and the types of products I apply to my skin.

20 years later, I’m happy to share that I remain here, fully present, choosing higher ground and work+life balance… Feeling Healthier… Happier… and More Alive everyday.

My Origin Story: Being born amidst the rich and mystical nature of the Louisiana bayou, eco therapy and herbalism have always been a part of me. The smells, sounds and tastes are unlike any other place on the planet. Based on this, some may say that I was an early explorer.

Moreover, caring for myself + the women in my family + community through skin care, scalp care, foot care and the application of our many shared Indigenous + African home remedies and approaches to wellbeing have always been a part of me. I’ve been taking care of melanated skin types at a communal level for over 40 years now and I’ll celebrate my 50th birthday in October 2026. My Mama, my Aunt, Our Wonderful Neighbor and my Grandmother collectively taught me the majority of what I know fundamentally about our skin. Today, this skill of caring for melanated skin with plants and minerals is the greatest gift I have to share with my daughter and everyone who chooses our path of natural skin care and holistic healing.

Praying, meditating and simply being on my Ancestors’ deeply mineralized land along the bayou, after leaving the “big corporatized city” behind, afforded me the reawakening of my Indigenous earth frequency and so began my journey as an herbalist, skin healer and plant-based wellness professional.

This attunement and this life journey are ultimately, what has led me to creating my skin care line and organic wellness brands.

Natural beauty theory + practices, herbal wisdom, skin care + wound healing + noninvasive skin condition expertise and Indigenous African self care + spa modalities are the essential pillars we employ.

I remain beyond proud to provide exceptional care and support local + global communities across the United States, Jamaica, Colombia, South America, South Africa and Ghana, West Africa.
